Adrienne Young - The Art Of Virtue CDI for one was blown away last year with Adrienne Young & Little Sadie's CD "Plow To The End Of The Row", and now along comes "The Art Of Virtue".  On the new CD, Adrienne Young & Little Sadie take their musical prowess to a new level. Much the same as "Plow", Adrienne Young has penned some amazing tracks with some help from Will Kimbrough and Mark D. Sanders. On The Art Of Virtue, Young and company have soared above the last effort, and that wasn't easy considering the quality of "Plow To The End Of The Row".

Adrienne Young holds down the lead vocals, more mature, and obviously having more fun than the last disc. Adrienne also plays the banjo or guitar on a number of the tracks. Young tackles the 13 virtues (according to Ben Franklin) that are deemed to be necessary or desirable. "The Art Of Virtue" could be called a virtual roadmap to lead one on the path to contentment and happiness, and Adrienne Young presents her case musically for the listener with a gentle honesty, what do you know, there are still albums being released with real meaning.

The Art Of Virtue is filled with tracks that can get you moving at times, maybe even a little step-dancing. Other times on the CD, Young can lead you to not only think, but explore the inner self. This is NOT a self help book (or CD) folks, but once you listen for yourself you can truly grasp the meaning that comes through loud and clear. I don't want you to get the wrong idea about this project at all, even if you don't believe you need the message offered, this is a true delight to simply listen to with Adrienne Young's wonderful voice expanded by amazing musicianship all around.

The Art Of Virtue shows the fun side of music with tracks like "Wedding Rings" and "Don't Get Weary Children". You also have a couple lively instrumentals "Bonaparte's Retreat/ My Love Is In America" and another "Golden Ticket" written by Young's fiddle player Eric Merrill. The Art Of Virtue comes complete with an amazing rendition of "Farther Along/ Billy In The Low Ground". The original compositions prove that roots music is alive and well in Adrienne Young & Little Sadie. Utilizing bluegrass and TRUE classic country sounds to create a fresh style that is sure to become the favorite of many. The most incredible thing here is simple, not one mediocre song in the mix, the CD flows like a summer rain from one great track to the next.
