Amazing Grace 3 - A Country Salute To Gospel

Through the years when you think of gospel music in the mainstream music world, it seems to be synonymous with country. Many country artists in the past and the present have either dedicated complete albums to Gospel, or they add a gospel track or 2 to their mainstream country CD. On Amazing Grace 3 - A Country Salute To Gospel, a host of today's hottest country music stars have recorded some of the most recognizable gospel songs around. The CD is a salute to gospel, and the artists performing the tracks completely shine on this CD.

Amazing Grace 3 has enlisted some amazing talent to contribute to this worthwhile recording. The artists seem to feel right at home recording these tracks, it is in some cases as if the songs were written specifically for the selected artists. The one thing about this CD that I found was that the unique style some of the artists have make the songs sound how I have always envisioned they should.

 Let's take a stroll through and see what we have here. The gospel music standard "Victory In Jesus" I always thought needed a deep vocal approach and it gets it here as Trace Adkins lays down a smooth vocal performance, as does the other sonorous vocalist Josh Turner on the equally stunning "Softly and Tenderly". Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown teams with one of the best known Contemporary Christian Music artists Stephen Curtis Chapman on the impressive duet of "Nothing But The Blood". One of the strongest performances on the CD comes from country music sweetheart Sarah Evans as she puts her all into her rendition of "Sweet By and By". 

The talent flows on Amazing Grace 3 - A Country Salute to Gospel. The 2003 Nashville Star winner Buddy Jewell comes through loud and clear with "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms". Other artists that are on this project are very good as well with The Isaacs, Joe Nichols, Jamie O'Neal, Dierks Bentley, Cyndi Thompson and Keith Urban. If you like your gospel country style this is a great CD, actually this is a great CD for all country fans as the performances are top notch across the board, a good choice for adding a compilation album to your music library.
