Angela Hacker plays hand she's Dealt, Judges take aim on Contestant's attitudes.
Nashville Star

This week Nashville Star Host Jewel wows the audience and contestants with a  breathtaking performance

I could be completely missing the Whitney Duncan factor. I surf the net to read articles on Nashville Star, I listen to the judges comments and I still don't think this young lady is truly good enough to deserve all the accolades. Good, yeah, but everything that I have been shown as of yet doesn't come close to a Nashville Star Victory.

Sometimes, yeah, you may have to something you are not comfortable with, but the judges (especially Anastasia) get off on telling the Hackers (Zac and Angela) that their attitude may lose them the competition. You follow people around with a camera almost 24/7 and you are bound to catch some of the negative comments behind the scenes. I believe both gave it their all in the end, besides, I don't like every song I hear, is that a crime? I don't think so, I haven't had the music police come to my door because I don't like any one song, that is just preference, not the end of the world.

Speaking of judges, Anastasia is still trying to sway viewers votes by her comments. I have been watching since the first season, and that type of strategy has not worked in the past. Viewers (I have to believe) have the capability to make up their own mind, and I would wager that "gearing" a contestant up for the win will actually sway very few votes. Anyway, on with the recap.......

Something to be Proud Of
Zac Hacker performed first, although he openly admitted he didn't care for the song, the song started out a little slow, but then kicked into high gear on the chorus. "Something to be proud of" does not fit Zac Hacker completely, but he did pull it out at the end. One thing that is evident about Zac is that win or lose this thing, he is not going anywhere soon, you can see, and sometimes feel the passion thst just streams out of Zac. Music is supposed to be about passion, and there is a lot of that here!
Zac Quote   "I Don't like the song at all, Just not me I guess"
Featured Judge Comment:
"You need to be more receptive to things that COULD carry you further in this music business." - Randy Owen

I'm In A Hurry (And Don't Know Why)
Joshua Stevens, last week Joshua shone, and this week he lost a bit of his twinkle. Anastasia says he improved, but last weeks performance was certainly stronger. I know a lot of the female species in the world really are drawn into the baby faced contestant, and he cab sing, but I would not predict a victory based on what we've seen to date, there are others on the stage with more talent, and Joshua may just fall a bit short of the mark.
JS Quote " I think It's Great the Judges are picking our songs, I thinks a true artist will just embrace that"
Featured Judge Comment:
..."I just don't know that you're our Nashville Star winner, but you have improved...." - Anastasia Brown
Listen to the Music
David St Romain performed tonight. Not just sang,  showed he enjoys what he does, and wants to share it with you. The performance was above average, but I can't predict DSR to win here, but a top 3 is surely possible. David St. Romain's vocals are his strength, unique and passionate.
DSR Quote: "This song has been in my repetoir for ten years now, thanks for choosing it"....
Featured Judge Comment:
..."You became and entertainer tonight, Entertainment is what it's all about" - Randy Owen....

I was Country When Country Wasn't Cool
I want to go to Burger King with Angela Hacker, she could make me hungry just by singing the value menu. With her unique voice and phrasing, there isn't much Angela Hacker couldn't sing. The song choice may not have seemed right to Angela, but once again she hit a grand slam. Angela Hacker has been the front runner in the race for Nashville Star Victory from the beginning. We all know things can change at anytime, the deal is however, Angela hasn't had a bad (or even mediocre for that matter) performance from the start. I would love to hear Angela sing It's A Heartache though, now that song would have fit her completely.
AH Quote: "People like my singing or they don't right now, I just hope they're OK with me singing a song like this."
Featured Judge Comment:
..."The great thing about you is you don't know how good you really are, I'm proud of you"." - Blake Shelton

It's down to the final 2, who will sing and who will be sent home, Cowboy Troy has the envelope, and the one going home is Meg Allison..... Meg took the news well as evident in her words "This is not the end of me". No, but it is the end of the line on Nashville Star... Good Luck Meg!
Ain't That Lonely Yet
As I said further up the page. I don't get Whitney the same as other people..... It can't be just me, but pitch problems were rampant this week, and a lot of the time she sounded just plain flat,. I do like Whitney, but the decision made by the viewers last week are putting her and Zac closer to being sent packing. This week it should be one of the two, based solely on this performance, I believe Whitney could be going home. Only time will tell, and we have to wait until Thursday to find out which one of the two, or for a real shocker, any one of the remaining contestants that will be.
WD Quote "If I get a chance to the song, I think it will go well, I hope".
Featured Judge Comment:
...."Tonight.... You Look Like A Star""- Randy Owen
