The Buckners sound like a bunch of friends got together one day and decided to record See You In Court, a CD filled with funny rock songs about girls. The first track starts as a Green Day song might. Four seconds of a catchy riff with the chorus starting almost immediately. The lyrics "Here comes your boyfriend/ dressed up like a girl again" let The Buckners audience know that they're here to have fun. Weezer fans are sure to get into the power pop lovin' Buckners. They aren't exactly the self-depreciating geeks that Weezer are, but the song lyrics are filled with descriptions of relationship problems and they seem comfortable in their dorkiness.

   The best, most professional sounding, and serious song on the See You In Court is "What You'd Like". The song gradually goes from solemnly subdued to seriously intense. Lead singer, Luke McInnis', emotional belting over intense, screaming guitars definitely convince listeners that The Buckners, although playful at times, know what the hell they're doing.

   The next and last song "Confident" is the sweetest song on the album. "I've been praying that God will guide me back to you" are some of the chorus' lyrics. This sugary sweet track was definitely made for MTV's TRL and is just begging for sixteen year old girls attention.  See You In Court is a perfect little album for kids who wear kakis and aren't afraid to admit they like catchy pop rock. The Buckners’ harmony is amazing, the song structures are nice and trim, and it's all wrapped in a cute CD case. No experimentation here. For those of us who stick with traditional rock, we rather like our easy to categorize music, thank you.
