After recording 3 albums for Lucky Dog records (Sony affiliate), I think Charlie Robison has finally found a label he can call home in Dualtone. The Bandera, Texas native sounds his best ever on the new CD, he is completely at ease and the songs ring with truth, heart and of course Charlie Robison's don't give a heck sense of humor. There are some tracks that may offend some listeners lyrically (well, those without a sense of humor anyway). On Good Times, Charlie Robison shows a bit of what makes his live performances memorable events, and shows more strength and charisma than he has on any of his past efforts (besides "LIVE").

Texas music fans have known and loved Charlie Robison for his recordings, and primarily live shows, but it is time the rest of the world caught on to this charismatic country performer. Charlie Robison has a style of his own, blending humor and good down home Texas-Bred country into a fun and truly enjoyable art. If you are not familiar with Charlie Robison, Good Times is as good a place as any to start your familiarity. Charlie Robison's music and Lyrics owe as much to some of the greats like Robert Earl Keen and John Prine as they do to the simple love of all things musically Texan.

On Good Times, Charlie Robison shows us his fun loving, tailor made for beer drinking side as well as a more gentle and heart felt passion. The tracks on Good Times not only standout as individuals, but they also mix together for a well crafted and performed total project.  There are many subjects covered in the new work from the songs of hardship, wild weekend partying, with some love and loss thrown in for good measure. 

Charlie Robison has created his finest studio work with a batch of new songs that simply have to be heard. Most of the tracks here were written by Charlie, but there are also a few written by other notables like Keith Gattis, Waylon Payne and Terry Allen. Among the best originals are a song that should be utilized to kick off every live show, "Good Times", the tender "Photograph" and "Something In The Water". Truly a standout performance by one of the truest Texas performers.
