Canadian boy, now living in Nashville, Deric Ruttan has the rare ability to not only make music, but to write a song that is filled with emotion, heart, and by jiminy there's a story there. I say that only because content oriented songs seem to be dinosaurs in today's country music radio world. Deric Ruttan on the other hand, has not only captured the essence of real roots country, but has expanded on the whole genre at the same time.

What we have is some delightful music from Canadian Country Music Awards nominee for the Chevy Trucks Rising Star Award. Songs that really take the bare bones approach once again to real gritty, and human country music songwriting. Deric Ruttan can capture a moment, a story, a feeling, and transform the image directly to the listener. What this means is simply that you can easily relate (no matter your walk of life) to the gritty, earthy truth of the music of Deric Ruttan.

You think I am exaggerating, one listen to the drama and passion in his first CD, and you will realize that Deric Ruttan is a wonderful singer, but far above that he is one of the best new country music songwriters ANYWHERE today.
