A High School girl with a dream, to be a Country Music Star. In the beginning of the dream no one believes they will become a country music sensation overnight, but that is exactly what happened to Erika Jo!  The Sensation part of the equation remains to be seen, but the 19 year old Texan entered the third year of Nashville Star. The title also brings a recording contract and Erika Jo also got a brand new pick-up truck.

Erika Jo won over fans throughout the contest, and now it's time to see if Nashville Star's third year winner can turn those votes into record sales. On June 14th, Erika Jo's self titled CD for Universal South will hit record shelves. The first winner of the USA Network's Country Music Reality show Nashville Star, Buddy Jewell has released his second major full length CD ("Times Like These") for Sony Music Nashville. The 2nd season winner Brad Cotter didn't fair quite so well. Sony Music dropped Brad Cotter from their roster stating poor record sales as the reason. 

So, can the first female winner of Nashville Star, Erika Jo, make a career out of Country Music or will the curse of Brad Cotter's less than stellar sales carry over to Season 3's star. I am not one to make that type of prediction, but we will be able to see as soon as the new CD hits the streets. Universal South (Nashville Star's new label sponsor) are hoping that the votes received for Erika Jo, along with the fact that they, not Sony, are the new sponsors will help people forget about Brad Cotter's fate and take a chance on Erika Jo.
