Evil Lõc - On Fire The Resurrection

I first heard of Evil Lõc when he was one of the guests on the superb CD from R.I.P. 2003 O.C. That was a great CD, but this is far from the first time Topeka, Kansas (His hometown) have heard from the Evil one. This is though the newest installment in his career, and it seems he has his future in his sites. Evil Lõc is one of the rappers of the day that have refused to be a sellout and much like R.I.P. has decided to market himself with his own label Mean Mugg Records. Holding out is not saying he will never sign a record deal, let's just say there is something to be said for not selling out and demanding your own terms rather than letting a label dictate who and what you are.

 Evil Lõc has put together a winner here with some massive beats and a style that is all his own. There are some of the all too often heard clichés among the rhymes but style helps to overcome those small obstacles. The style is an in your face rap attack that takes on the labels, the other rappers that have done the sell-out thing, and life on the streets. Evil Lõc has proven to me with the release of On Fire The Resurrection that he is set to be one of the players and has the skills that may just help him pull it off.

They beats here are phat. they have a reminiscent feel that tips the proverbial hat to some of the masters of the game. In doing so,  Evil Lõc does tend to remain current and fresh too. Dewey C. Washington Jr. (

If you are not into the hardcore Gangsta style rap, and you want your rhymes sugar coated I would recommend steering clear of this, but if you like the in-your-face non nonsense rap attack then this may be just what the dealer ordered. Loaded with some solid tracks this is sure to please even the most cynic hardcore rap fanatic! It will even though over an hour and fifteen minutes in length leave you drooling and needing another fix!
