George Canyon CD "One Good Friend" Debuts at #1 In Native Canada

TORONTO, ON – October 6, 2004 - George Canyon’s first major label release, One Good Friend, debuted at the top of the Soundscan Country Music Charts in Canada this week and at #20 on the Soundscan Top 200 charts (all formats). The album, which features the hit single, “Never Do Better Than You,” currently at #14 bullet on the BDS charts in Canada, is Canyon’s first album since signing with Universal South. The video for “Never Do Better Than You” is in heavy rotation at CMT Canada and on the station’s Top 20.
 
Canyon, who walked away with The Chevy Trucks Rising Star Award at this year’s Canadian Country Music Awards is already a household name to millions of country fans in both the US and his native Canada, thanks to a strong second-place finish earlier this year on the USA Networks/CMT Canada television show Nashville Star in which he was the only Canadian contestant.
