Glenn Allan and Kim Mackenzie - Paradise, Texas 

An eclectic blend of music from Texas-mex to Folk and Country that. The San Antonio duo of Glenn Allan and Kim Mackenzie have been enchanting music lovers for some time, and now they put forth a CD that is 10 pure tracks of adrenaline cultivating Texas music that showcases not only the vocal harmonies, but the songwriting is just as intense. The lyrics not only scream to be Texas proud, they also add a touch of humor and energy that make Paradise, Texas a treat to listen to.

Texas fans are more than familiar with the Grammy award winning accordion playing of Flaco Jimenez. Jimenez adds a great charm and flair to this project. Glenn Allan and Kim Mackenzie take you on a very worthwhile journey that proves to be entertaining as well as artistically sound. Sounding as good as any of the folk acts of the 60s, but with much more bite and kick. After previewing the CD I knew I was in for a delightful journey, and I was right as the duo deliver on all aspects.

  All Texas music fans will love Paradise, Texas, while if you are listening for the first time you will still undoubtedly be drawn in by the infectious music and utter charm. To try and compare the duo to other artists or bands is truly pointless as they may draw on some obvious influences, the sound created here by Glenn Allan and Kim Mackenzie is unique and memorable as well as familiar. A complete mixture of style and charismatic energy that flows from the beginning of the upbeat "Goin' To Mexico" and doesn't let up until the last note of "Death Of Me". 

I am convinced you will take to this project as much as I have for the simple reason of the talent drawn on and executed here. Glenn Allan penned the 10 impressive numbers that are served up, while the chemistry between the two performers is evident. The listener has fun, and you can tell the duo had just as much fun recording the CD while remaining focused on the goal. There is not a bad track in the bunch, although there are a few that have added allure. "Spanish Town, Adios Corazón, and country blues of the witty Tastes Like Chicken" are three that stand out from the rest. You have to experience this journey over and over, have fun!
