Heart - Jupiter's Darling

Wow, this is what I have been waiting for from Heart. Jupiter's Darling is more a tribute to the true roots of the band that anything they have done in years. Think more along the lines of "Crazy In Love" or "Barracuda" when you think of purchasing this CD than the sappy drivel the band seemed to be in the groove of putting out. That's not to say Heart didn't have a few could tracks, but their musical heritage suffered for the simple cause of radio airplay. Jupiter's Darling is more of an testament to the true power of the band since we have left the 70s in the past.

Jupiter's Darling shows the reason Ann Wilson and sister Nancy Wilson are going to go into the music history books as the most prominent sister acts in rock music. The tracks here, although reminiscent of early Heart, still have a modernized and current sound. The true feeling of satisfaction move through when listening to Jupiter's Darling, a true artistic expression without the need to follow the sound of pop and rock the radio is force feeding us.

Heart's lyrics are every bit as food as any past attempt. If you are going to put out a comeback attempt, this is just what the doctor ordered. The Wilson sisters don't show any signs of wear in the lyric department, nor do they fall by the wayside for the power or intensity. Jupiter's Darling offers 16 new cuts for the music enthusiast or fans of the band.

"Move On", the Zeppelin-esque sound of "I Need The Rain", and the smokin' "Oldest Story In The World" are all prime examples of what classic Heart music should sound like. Alright lads and gals, simply put, Heart's Jupiter's Darling show that the band are back, and definitely worth further investigation.
