Herb Alpert - The Signature Series - Remastered early Recordings from the Latino Music Legend.

Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass debuted on both the album and single charts in 1962, with the album, and the single The Lonely Bull. over the course of the next few years, the sex symbol from South Of The Border, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, would prove some staying power as well, and the best of the best is delivered on the Signature Series from Shout Factory Records. The Lonely Bull, South of the Border, Whipped Cream and Other Delights and a new collection of unreleased material Lost Treasures show Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass at their peak.

Blending simple pop backdrops and adding a brass section, with nearly no vocals, would not be the way many people expected pop music to turn, but it was a time before the British Invasion that gave some room on the airwaves for this new sound.  Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass played a sexy style of pop that seemed to hit the correct chord with female audiences. The album covers that were used for all Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass albums were what we would come to expect in the future more from Romance Novels than from album jackets, and the music on the CD (LPs at the time) was just as smoky and steamy as the covers led you to believe, and the female fans were completely taken by  Herb Alpert's look, and sound, and the trend would continue, but for how long? Well, as of 1997, Herb Alpert released Passion Dance as a solo artist, so I guess you could say there was some staying power here.

Over the course of his career, Herb Alpert would win the hearts of pop music fans with his trumpet playing savvy. Awards and honors were flowing to Herb Alpert both with the Tijuana Brass and as a solo artist, with five #1 hits, eight Grammy Awards, fifteen Gold albums and fourteen Platinum albums. These accomplishments helped propel Latino music to the mainstream market, and Latino music couldn't have asked for a better ambassador than Herb Alpert. The most memorable hits from the early days are still just as smooth and sexy as they were in the beginning, and sound better than ever with the Signature Series. You can enjoy “The Girl From Ipanema” and The Beatles’ “All My Loving”. The Beatles would have to be covered, and now the parents could listen to a Beatles track, not just the kiddies....

Along in his career, Herb Alpert would continue to shine, but not just as a trumpeter anymore, Herb Alpert is now also an accomplished artist (sculptor) as well as a well respected producer. You can start to enjoy the remastered works of Herb Alpert with Lost Treasures, The Lonely Bull, South Of The Border, and Whipped Cream and other delights now, and be on the llokout for more remastered sessions on the way...  In June, the albums Going Places, What Now My Love and S.R.O. will be reissued, and the Christmas album is tentatively scheduled for October, along with reissues of Sounds Like, Herb Alpert's Ninth and Beat Of The Brass. The remix project is slated for July.
