Jason LeGrand

There are times in one's life that you simply look for the Stars, and at Country Music's Biggest Party (CMA Music Festival) Fan Fair 2004 that is certainly what a lot of folks are doing, stargazing............ and yea there certainly were a lot of the brightest shining stars there...... But, while you are gazing at the Stars, some should be looked at a little longer, they may not be the biggest, yet, but they certainly shine just as bright as some of the BIGGER stars......... If you are wondering what exactly I am getting on about, keep reading, I am sure it will become as clear as the starlit night..........

Jason LeGrand first came to my attention because I found him as he was trying out for the 2004 season of the USA Network's Nashville Star reality series. Jason impressed the judges by winning the State championship (Ohio) and going on to the regionals along with Gary Pittman. Jason did not win the Nashville Star competition this year, but I was still intrigued and have been trying to keep tabs on  this rising Country Music Star since.

I did get the chance to hear Jason Legrand play a few acoustic songs at the get together at the end of Fan Fair hthis year for the Country Music and Nashville Star message board. Jason LeGrand combines straight forward country with soul, and a hint of rock n' roll and blues thrown in which gives him his unique sound. The young wannabe also excited me with his songwriting skills at this event by singing a tune that could easily be added to Country Music Radio, Cuatro Cervesas is as good a country tune as you will hear, and that isn't a stretch of any sort! Jason LeGrand is also a member of the popular Double Barrel Band who just happened to be the local winners of the 2004 Colgate Country Showdown. That is a taste of the past of Jason LeGrand, but my friends this is not near as exciting of what we can expect from this immensely talented country performer in the FUTURE, and that is where my ears and eyes are focused as it is going to be absolutely no surprise to me if this country music young gun will be in the forefront of country music before long.

Jason LeGrand has energy to spare when performing, and is for sure on of the new breed of Country Music stars that we have just begun to hear about. This writer is for sure glad to be able to say in the near future, Jason LeGrand , yeah I knew him on the way up. The sky is the limit for the Massachusetts  born, Ohio River Valley performer has nothing but the sky as the limit and I am sure will be staring at the business end of Nashville before you know it.
