James Katz - Glow

Occasionally, no matter how organized you are, something always seems to get swallowed by the cracks. Such is the case with James Katz CD Glow for me. I remember listening to the CD in a brief preview, and then I couldn't find it anymore. After the brief preview I out the CD in it's case, ahhhhh, but it wasn't the case it was supposed to be in. I put the CD in the wrong case and only found it again by complete accident.

I am glad the CD gnomes didn't come in and drag it off, Glow is a sensational work, and I am honored to be able to offer you a glimpse. The production of this CD, also done by James Katz , is remarkable, one of the cleanest sounding indie CDs I have heard in quite some time. James Katz vocals are fresh and memorable as he flows through each track withy finesse. From the intro of "The Disney Song" to the last note of "The Ballad Of Evel" , James Katz has offered up a winner for our listening pleaseure.

A bit of alternative with a modern rock hook, Glow is one CD that I am going to be sure I don't misplace again, it has to find it's way into my CD player more often. It's edgy sound is a sort of a cross between the Spin Doctors and Jimmy Eat World, with a pinch of Morrissey and Americana topped with some Alt. Country. This CD is custom made for CD airplay, Glow is also making quite a splash at Garageband, the cut "Bigger Trees" for instance is headed for song of the week in the Country/Folk category. 

James Katz is known for his music as well as he skills in mastering and producing. The New Yorker was a member of the band "Choosy Mothers" that played regularly in the BIG Apple, averaging about 2 gigs a week over 5 years, and they sold 15,000 CDs with no promotional campaign. Glow has a maturity to it's content, not simple play dough molded for the masses. James Katz is a name after hearing this CD you will want to remember. Great disk!
