Jamie Richards - Between These Lines

Last time I heard from Jamie Richards was his CD No Regrets, it was good CD, but my main complaint was that a lot of the CD sounded so manufactured, radio ready cookie cutter stuff.  Well, Jamie Richards... Thank You.... and Welcome back to Texas.... This is more like what I wanted to hear. Not only do some of the tracks mention Texas... but the 15 cuts here  bring the original Texas country music sound back in fine style. From some true swingin' country to some edgy, get the crowd worked to a frenzy songs and all stops in between are just as good.

Bringing Walt Wilkins into the mix as producer was a great choice for Jamie Richards as he sounds more at home on Between These Lines. The songwriting (with help from Walt Wilkins, Jeff Batson, Don Pfrimmer, and others) delivers some of the strongest tracks I have heard so far this year. Jamie Richards vocals are right on track, giving me a feeling that No Regrets  just fell a bit short of..... the feeing that I am listening to real country from a singer and songwriter that really believes in what he is putting out there for the public. 

Between These Lines proves to me to be the project that Jamie Richards needed. From the country standard sounds of drinkin' and carrying on, hangovers and heartache to the wonderful rendition Jamie adds of the true classic of George Jones "Window Up Above". After listening, I get a real feeling of satisfaction that I felt No Regrets wanted to give me, but didn't quite do it. Between These Lines shows a different aspect of Jamie Richards, and Texas radio has been spinning the tracks more too.

Pay close attention as you listen, the flow of Between These Lines is truly flawless, there is nothing that sounds the least bit out of place here. Like pieces of a country music puzzle, Jamie Richards has put each track (or puzzle piece) in exactly the right spot. If you get a chance to catch Jamie Richards.... don't miss out... I'm told that the show is even better than the CD is, and if that's the case it must be one hell of a live show!
