Jamie Richards - No Regrets

Jamie Richards is actually a staff writer at Curb Records, Nashville, and being the fruitful songwriter he is wrote or co-wrote 9 of the songs on No Regrets. The Legendary Texas record label D Records, known for finding and releasing some of the greats, has released a  13 song CD which portrays a bit of the strength and emotion of Jamie Richards. The only problem is, some of the songs on the CD sound like the rest f the cookie cutter country being put forth by Nashville today.

That being said, there are also some very good tracks here that could stand alone, and be recognized as Jamie Richards as soon as you hear them. Jamie does have a good voice, and a solid songwriting style. Both come through on No Regrets, especially on the songs written by Richards. A classic style album that is getting harder to find amongst the country jungle of one hit wonders and molded stars of the day.

The most original and standout songs on the CD make this project worthwhile for country fans. Tunes like "One Tequila" which is not as cliché as the name suggests, the heartfelt and emotional "Tear in Your Eye", the classic styling of "Red River Runaround" and "Tears Too Deep to Cry" make this CD solid and memorable. You find four solid standout tracks and a host of other good tracks on a CD and you have a good find.

A good effort for Jamie Richards with his solid country voice, I just wish he hadn't tried to get so mainstream on some of the tracks. All in all a CD worthy of my recommendation, and will keep me looking forward to the next project Jamie Richards will surely be putting forth. Just maybe, next time Richards won't hold back as he did to an extent on No Regrets, but enough of him shines through to keep me interested and waiting for the next CD
