One of the top 15 Contestants (chosen Nation Wide) for the 2004 USA TV Series Nashville Star, also winner of the Michigan title in the Colgate Country Showdown. This fiery redhead (5'2") has some great chops, her voice can empower the listener, with a combined energy of Reba McEntire and Wynnona, Rachel Williams belts out her brand of Countrified blues on her debut "First Day Of The Truth". A powerful CD recorded in Nashville, that deserves as much awareness as any other female power vocalist in Country Music today. Rachel Williams may look like a small package, but you'd never know that with the explosive performance put forth here.

Rachel Williams sings with passion and flair that usually comes with the more seasoned and polished performers. The tracks included on First Day Of The Truth were well chosen as they fit the Michigan native's vocal range, from the powerful, driving sound of tracks like "So Good For So Long" and "Rebel Bride" (Rebel Bride has a definitive Highway 101 Feel), the mid-tempo title track, and the emotionally charged ballads "On The Leaving Side" or "That Was Me".

Rachel has a true gift for pulling you in, once you start playing the CD the addiction begins. First Day Of The Truth proves Williams was deserving of her space on Nashville Star 2, and if the sound here is an indicator, we will be hearing much more from Rachel Williams in the future. A positive CD that is a must for anyone who like their female vocalists to be able to belt out the tunes with a true drive and desire. Jump on the train, Rachel Williams is going to be on the fast track. Already making a name for herself opening, and sharing the stage with such incredible acts as  Emerson Drive, Diamond Rio, Andy Griggs, and Wynonna!
