It's hard to believe that there are some folks that haven't heard of The Silos, but not everyone has, should they, yes, but not all have. For those that are fans When The Telephone Rings has been on their wish list for some time, and now they have a reason to celebrate. The Roots rock sound of The Silos is not your average cup of countrified rock , The Silos really have a special feel to their music, a familiarity that is wonderful, even if it is your first time, you will still feel like you've known the band forever.

Walter Salas-Humara, the frontman for the group doesn't miss a beat. From the opener "The Only Love" to the album ender "Take A Hit" you have an incredible sounding CD, the music you have come to know from The Silos is here again. An infectious groove that is almost impossible to ignore, one listen is not enough, this is simply one of those rare CDs that finds a home in your stereo for a long time to come. From the upbeat sound that would fit well in any barroom on a Saturday night to songs that make you think, songs of love and life that deliver a real message without sounding like anything else on the market. The Silos come through with another great CD, they have been creating music that walks the edge of Rock, Country, Folk, and a dash of other styles for 19 years, and they sound as good as ever.

If you are looking for a little feel good music, even when the subject is life and it's troubles, The Silos offer just that with When The Telephone Rings. The lyrics are as smart as they are down to earth, true roots music for the common folk.
