I wish I could be there now to give my condolences in person. Know that I've been mourning with the family and friends for days now. Steve will be greatly missed for many reasons. For me I loved his excitement and daring feats with the wildlife he loved so much. Its just so hard to believe that Steve Irwin is gone. He's "played" with so many dangerous animals but a Stingray? How could it be? Im 13 right now and ever since I started watching The Crocodile Hunter I have wanted to go to his zoo and meet him in person. That has been my one true dream, and now knowing that it will never come true leaves me in tears everynight (Not kidding) I have been a true fan of him and his show and he has been my role modle to love animals...thanks to Steve...I've discovered that I want to be a Marine Biologist and do what he did in the water. I bought a shirt with little Kangaroos all over it in remeberance of him and I have also put pictures of him all over my school folder. Steve will remain in my heart for many years to come. I can't believe how this has affected our family. I think because he involved his ENTIRE family in his adventures, it has really hit home. I bet they said bye to daddy and expected to see him after his shoot......just like the million other times they went through that. Just heartbreaking. I can't say I watched The Crocodile Hunter regularly, but like anyone else who's halfway normal in the world I'd seen it a few times and boy was it entertaining. Steve was a great entertainer, taking what he loved and making learning about it a fun time. I literally could not believe it when my cousin told me he was dead, but I looked it up online and damn it was true. Terri, Bindy, Bob and the rest of Steve's family and friends. I truely am saddened by the loss of such a great person. I never met Steve in person but, me and my family have been watching him in his adventures and rescues on television for about seven years now. We are always amazed of the things that he does and tasks that he took on. Me and my family had gone fishing the day after Steves incident and we had caught a baby stingray. I remember some ladies coming by and saying "Isn't that the kind of animal that killed the animal man". I did not question who they were talking about and then we sent the stingray back to the ocean. We came home and I turned on the televsion and to my suprise I saw Steves picture with the date of his birth and death. I could not believe what I was looking at. Then I knew that was who those ladies were talking about. Me and my family could not keep our eyes off the news or the Animal planet channel,it took some time to sink in. It has been hard to accept the fact that he is gone. His memories will always be with us and his spirit will be alive through his childs' eyes. To the Irwin family, stay strong and always keep his memories alive, and to the little ones; Bindy and Bob always remember your Dad was a great guy to humanity, animals and life.
