incorporate the Year End best of 2006, this way you can see what was hot
in 2006 according to us. You can use the information for fun or to help
you with your holiday shopping needs!
Here we have scanned through all of our Christmas Music received, and we
have made a list of our top 10 Holiday Christmas Music CDs of 2006.
Without further ado, here is your list!
#1
-
Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong
The honey-voiced Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan
has ascended from modest success in the U.S. and her native Nova
Scotia to international stardom. Her music is accessible enough for
the masses, yet serious enough to strike a strong chord with
sensitive listeners, especially young women. Partly in
acknowledgement of that demographic, McLachlan created the
Lilith Fair in 1997, a female-focused concert tour that was an
unexpected success and heralded a renaissance of female artists in
the world of rock.

James Taylor at Christmas
Combine the most beloved, classic songs of the holiday season with
the warm baritone of one of the most recognized voices in popular
music, and fans will have reason to celebrate with James Taylor
at Christmas. This 12-track collection features traditional and
contemporary seasonal songs.

Brad Paisley - Christmas
Multi-platinum recording artist Brad Paisley has achieved
numerous accolades during his career but has yet to record a
Christmas record. The wait is over as his first-ever holiday album
Brad Paisley Christmas features 7 Christmas classics
as well as 4 original songs!

Third Day - Christmas Offerings
Follow the Grammy Award-winning worship band Third Day back
to the manger---and lift your heart in Christmas praise! Includes
live versions of "Away in a Manger," "Silent Night," and "The First
Noel"; plus "Joy to the World," "O Holy Night," "O Come All Ye
Faithful," and more.

Bette Midler - Cool Yule
The holidays are just around the corner and Bette Midler
delivers the ultimate present - Cool Yule, her first
ever Christmas album. Experience the excellence of Bette's
vocals with delightfully lush arrangements that will sure help you
get into that holiday spirit. From standards like "Have Yourself A
Very Merry Little Christmas" and "White Christmas" to the Hawaiian
Christmas ditty "Mele Kaliki Maka" and a stunning duet with Johnny
Mathis, "Winter Wonderland/Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

John Fluker - J Is For Joy
With an R&B / Soul feel, and a Jazz heart, Keyboardist John
Fluker offers up one of the better Christmas CDs of 2006! The
vocals are heartfelt and the arrangement is completely in time with
the holiday Spirit. John Fluker's Independent CD J is for
Joy is a new Christmas Treasure, and is totally at ease with any
other major label Christmas music out there today, even
better than most of the contrived and rehashed dribble offered up at
the Holiday season.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack - remastered with never before
released material.
The first time you listen to this disc you will undoubtedly be
transported directly back to your childhood. Charles Schulz's
Peanuts characters will go toe-tapping and funky-dancing
through your mind's eye. Play it a few more times, though (ignoring
the dialogue snippets, if you can), and you will begin to truly
revel in Guaraldi's wonderful, humorous, deep piano playing.

#8
-
Wynonna - A Classic Christmas
As the title indicates, Wynonna doesn't stray from the
classics on her Christmas album, sticking strictly to beloved fare
as secular as Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" and Mel Torme's "The
Christmas Song" or as reverent as "Ave Maria" and " O Come, O Come,
Emmanuel." Similarly, the arrangements keep away from country twang
in favor of a middle of the road pop sound.

#9
-
Celtic Woman - A Christmas Celebration
One of the more impressive things about A Christmas Celebration
is its glowing immediacy. The record's rich vocals and colorful
instrumentals create a concert-like setting, reprising the season's
most loved hymns, carols, and pop standards, along with a Gaelic
version of "That Night in Bethlehem."

#10
-
Blackmore's Night - Winter Carols
"Winter Carols" features familiar favorites, new songs
including "Christmas Eve" and even their unique
interpretation of The Rednex "Wish You Were Here". Each track
is a magical, velvety blend of lush orchestral arrangements, organic
Renaissance instruments, guitar mastery and ethereal vocals.
Listening to "Winter Carols" is like sitting next to a
roaring fire with a glass of cherry brandy as the crystalline snow
blankets the earth outside.
