You know, since DVD started becoming mainstream you could almost see this coming.... Well, I mean they started with VHS, but I mean the tapes were really big and bulky, and there really weren't that many shows that really made the transition well. With DVD, TV shows make the transition much easier, I mean the discs are thinner, the packaging is smaller and much easier to store. You can store a whole TV Season on DVD easily and with as much room as it may take to store maybe 3 VHS tapes at most, alot of the Seasons can fit in a space the width it would take to fit ONE VHS tape, or less. 

Anyway, welcome to the FIRST review from Rikks Revues of TV on DVD. Unsolved Mysteries is the first I will take a look at with doubtful more to come. Ghosts and UFOs , two of my favorite movie or TV subjects, here I will take a look at both.......

Unsolved Mysteries - UFOs

You know there are times that we see headlines or read about strange and bizarre events and we really would like to figure out the who, what, where, why, or how behind it but just don't have the resources to find out. At least we didn't have the resources that Robert Stack had working for him on the TV Show Unsolved Mysteries. That is the place many of us turned for answers to many of life's unanswered questions or Mysteries. We knew that on a weekly basis Robert Stack would dish out the goods on the Unanswered..... whether it was Missing Persons, the paranormal, supernatural or other worldly, the answers may not have been based completely in fact, but at least we were getting them looked into in a way that we never had before Unsolved Mysteries actually aired. 

Thanks now to First Look Home Entertainment at least the starting of this great program for those of us who wanted more answers is making it to home video, DVD to be exact. The first 2 I got to get a glimpse, that brought back great memories of the show, was Unsolved Mysteries: Ghosts and Unsolved Mysteries: UFOS. Robert Stack hosts just as I remembered with that great unmistakable voice that could make even the skeptics believe at times. The video series promises not to stop here, but more will be available soon, if they aren't already. The price range is good and comparable if not lower than some of the same type series. Starting from around $35.00, you can sometimes find it for that, but the price gets higher for the different names in the series too.

So, with the series you get to range from UFO sightings, crop circles, Vancouver Lights, Roswell - Area 51, Australian UFOS, Missing Time, the Men In Black and much more on 4 DVDs about UFOs and other outer worldly Mysteries. All of course hosted by the one and only Robert Stack. You can also pick up Unsolved Mysteries: Ghosts which takes you to Lizzie Borden's house, Queen Mary Ghosts, Voices From Beyond the Grave, Lake Whales Haunting, Ghost Boy, The Entity and much more as well. 

 So basically anything you have wondered about, even tabloid stuff is covered in the Unsolved Mysteries series. Each set consists of 4 DVDs and are brought back to life even more clear than on TV. Check them out..... You know it's basically summed up simply like this, there were other "Mystery" shows, but none were known the world over quite like Robert Stack and the Unsolved Mysteries series. I think you may be "mysteriously" drawn back to watch some of the discs over and over, I know I was.....
