Vans Warped Tour 2004 Compilation

Side One Dummy offers this compilation, this is not only a glimpse, it is more of an in depth introduction, Yeah, you may know some of the bands that are kicking it our here, but I bet there's a few more on the Vans Warped Tour compilation you may not yet know.

OK, so some of the bands here like Taking Back Sunday, Bad Religion, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory have had some good commercial success, but there are just as many deserving artists on this CD that could use a bit of your time too. Look at this as your New Rock 101 Text book and learn more about this multitude o Mayhem and mischief makers. Warped Tour 2004 is a good introduction into the still rebellious side of rock. 

It's good to see Punk Rock really hasn't changed much over the years, I mean you still have your political tracks, songs about death, as well as all the other anarchist sounds of Punk's past life, and you have the warped minds of the new breed giving you some music you may not soon forget. The thing is that on Vans Warped Tour 2004 you get some tracks that almost seem too polished to be included, OK so that comes from a guy who likes the geriatric punk rock from the 1970's, but there is some music today that deserves to be mentioned in the same review. 

Some of the great tracks here are the in your face attack from The Casualties on "Unknown Soldier". The sound of Punks past really comes through with Piebald's "The Jealous Guy Blues". You will also hear from  Go Betty Go, Flogging Molly, Pennywise, Maxeen, The F Ups, Pepper as well as many others. A virtual congregation of the who's who on the new rock scene. The thing is this CD is more of a companion to the tour, it is NOT a soundtrack from the concert, these are all studio tracks, but still, hey you got 52 of 'em here....
